Recorded mostly live off the floor over three days, this album feels akin to a live Corwin Fox performance blending absurdity and mischief with recollections of childhood romance and other heartfelt banjo whimsy. While the detail in Corwin’s writing displays his love of stories and characters, Corwin Fox & The Cumberland Brothers stands in rather stark contrast to his last album “mememe” (2017) which was much mellower and more self reflective. This album is lively and playful, a perfect summertime folk roots recording.
